IPOs

1. SCOMI

A relatively unknown company when it headed for a listing, Scomi pursued the IPO to gain access to the capital markets for onward expansion and diversification into related business areas and emerging countries. Hoping to raise the much-needed capital and awareness of its share values, Scomi engaged Asia PR to advise and strategise the key messages and activities.

Scomi’s corporate awareness index soared high for this new oil and gas company, with its public offering 9.16 times
oversubscribed.

2. VOIR

This was a real challenge as the listing saw a company which had remained quiet for some 30 years. Asia PR successfully executed a communications game plan for VOIR’s listing that resulted in an oversubscription of 20.91 times.

VOIR designs, markets and retails around 16 fashion labels within Malaysia and select overseas markets, besides being the licensee for international brands, Chiemsee and Diadora.

3. TALAM

Rebranding was the key objective as this construction and property-related corporation split its business into two separate public-listed companies, with Talam overseeing property whilst Europlus handled infrastructure projects.

The exercise aimed to profile Talam embarking on a new corporate mission with better products and services, thereby addressing past problems and clearing negative baggage.

4. WAH SEONG

This diversified corporation which supplies building materials for the construction, oil & gas and utilities industries, undertook its IPO at a time when it was not a well known company.

Asia PR scored highly for Wah Seong’s communications programme, catapulting it into a leading corporation with a strong management

5. SUMATEC RESOURCES

Another one of Asia PR’s successful IPOs and again, another corporation involved in providing oil and gas-related services. Sumatec’s financial exercise was instrumental to secure funds for its growth and expansion into new markets like Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Vietnam and even the Maldives.

6. OTHER COMPANIES

Asia PR has handled many corporations and brands for their financial listing exercise, with names such as Oilcorp, Ayamas Holdings, Reliance Pacific, Premium Nutrients, Jerneh Insurance, Kurnia Setia, MetalTech and WCT Engineering.

Besides networking with the media, Asia PR embarked on special activities with analysts to gain their long-term support and forge ties with the management of each client.
